The Travelers homeowner's insurance discount given for owning an alarm system varies heavily depending on which state the policy is located in. While some factors can be expected to result in a larger insurance premium discount, every consideration is ultimately very state-specific.

If you have a Travelers homeowner's insurance policy, we strongly recommend checking with Travelers to find out the possible discounts in your state. Without providing a specific state, it is almost impossible to determine any type of discount you would receive for owning an alarm system. Travelers does say that policyholders in most states can expect to receive a small discount in their homeowner's insurance premium for owning an alarm system. However, this amount varies greatly between states, and policyholders in certain states might not be able to receive any sort of discount.

In most (but not all) states, certain factors are more likely to result in greater savings on one's Travelers Insurance premium. For example, maintaining both burglary and fire protection is more likely to result in a larger discount than having just one type of protection. Another example is that customers with central station monitoring are more likely to receive a greater discount than self-monitored customers.
