Will A 5834-4 Key Fob Work On A 2GIG GoControl?

The device will work to a limited extent. The Honeywell 5834-4 key fob runs on the same frequency as the 2GIG GoControl wireless sensors, so users can program it to the 2Gig GoControl. The Honeywell 5834-4 key fob cannot be programmed for panic. Only arm, disarm and stay can be programmed.

The reason: keyfobs are programmed to Honeywell alarm panels using zones. The 2Gig GoControl alarm panel has it's own key fob programming.

To program the Honeywell 5834-4 to the 2Gig Go Control panel, press the logo in the lower right hand corner of the home screen.

Enter the installer code (2Gig's default installer code is 1561).

Press System Configuration. Press the Go To icon and enter Q3, or press the right arrow and toggle to Q3.

The 2Gig panel supports up to 8 key fobs, 1-8 and reports as sensors 51 - 58.

Select a key fob number, press the down arrow, select key fob number used and select 1 = enabled, 0 = disabled. Press the down arrow.

Select the fob number equipment code, enter 0000 = other (since it is not a 2Gig device). Press the down arrow.

Select fob number, serial number - enter the 7 digit serial number found on the back of the 5834-4 key fob. Or learn it in by pressing the shift then the learn button and then press the armed away button on the key fob until the LED illuminates and the key fob transmits the serial number. Press the down arrow.

Select fob number equipment age - enter 0 = new or 1 = exists. Press the down arrow.

Select fob number, serial number - enter the 7 digit serial number found on the back of the 5834-4 key fob. Or learn it in by pressing the shift then the learn button and then press the armed away button on the key fob until the LED illuminates and the key fob transmits the serial number. Press the down arrow.

Select fob number equipment age - enter 0 = new or 1 = exists. Press the down arrow.

Select key fob number output - select 0 = disabled, 1 = toggle output, or 2 = momentary output.

Select End, Save Changes and press Exit.
