How Do I Add a 2GIG Audio Detector to the IQ5 NS System?

To add a 2GIG audio detector to the IQ5 NS, install the IQ QC0005-840 345 MHz daughter card first. Open the IQ Installer app and connect to the panel. Go to Installation, Devices, Security Sensors, select Auto Learn Sensor, touch Start Autolearn, and press the test button on the detector.

What Is the 2GIG-FF100-345 Audio Detector

The IQ5 NS (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) is a screenless security system panel compatible with the 2GIG-FF100-345 Fire/Audio Detector, a 345 MHz wireless device that listens for the T3 temporal sound pattern produced by UL-listed smoke detectors and sends an alert to the panel. The IQ QC0005-840 345 MHz daughter card must be installed before enrollment. All enrollment is done through the IQ Installer app.

Once enrolled, the detector is always active and cannot be bypassed. With a monitoring plan, the central station receives the fire signal and can dispatch emergency services. The FF100-345 must be positioned within clear audio range of the smoke detectors it is monitoring.

Steps to Add the Audio Detector

1. Open the IQ Installer app and connect to the IQ5 NS panel. The Configuration menu opens in the app.

3. Select Auto Learn Sensor and touch Start Autolearn. The panel enters listening mode for a 345 MHz signal.

4. Press the test button on the 2GIG-FF100-345. The app displays the DL ID with a confirmation prompt. Source shows SRF345. Leave Loop at Loop 1 — the only option for 345 MHz fire sensors.

5. Touch OK, set Sensor Type to Smoke Detector, choose a Sensor Name, and touch Save. Sensor Group 26 is assigned automatically. Enter a name such as Bedroom Audio or Living Room Fire Listener and touch Save to complete enrollment.

After Adding the Detector

Test after enrollment by pressing the test button. Position the FF100-345 within clear audio range of the smoke detectors it monitors — typically in the same room. For direct smoke detection without relying on audio, a PowerG smoke detector connects natively to the IQ5 NS without a daughter card and detects smoke and heat directly. Add a monitoring plan for central station fire dispatch.

Adding the 2GIG-FF100-345 audio detector to your IQ5 NS lets existing smoke detectors trigger your alarm system wirelessly on the IQ5 NS.
