How Do I Add a 2GIG CO Detector to the IQ5 NS Security Panel?

To add a 2GIG CO detector to the IQ5 NS, install the IQ QC0005-840 345 MHz daughter card first. Open the IQ Installer app and connect to the panel. Navigate to Installation, Devices, Security Sensors, select Auto Learn Sensor, touch Start Autolearn, and press the test button on the detector.

Before You Begin

The IQ5 NS (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) is a screenless security system panel compatible with the 2GIG-00100-345 Carbon Monoxide Detector. The IQ QC0005-840 345 MHz daughter card must be installed before enrollment. All enrollment on the IQ5 NS is done through the IQ Installer app.

Once enrolled, the CO detector is always active — monitoring for carbon monoxide 24 hours a day regardless of arming state. CO detectors use Sensor Group 34 and cannot be bypassed. With a monitoring plan, the central station receives the CO alarm and can dispatch emergency services immediately.

Steps to Add the CO Detector

1. Open the IQ Installer app and connect to the IQ5 NS panel. The Configuration menu opens in the app.

4. Press the test button on the 2GIG-00100-345. The app displays the sensor DL ID with a confirmation prompt. The Source shows SRF345. The Loop field shows Loop 1 — this is the only option for 345 MHz CO sensors.

5. Touch OK and configure the sensor fields. Set the Sensor Type to CO Detector. Sensor Group 34 (CO) is assigned automatically. Enter a Sensor Name such as Living Room CO or Bedroom CO and touch Save.

After Adding the CO Detector

Test the detector after enrollment by holding the test button until the panel responds. The detector is supervised and always active — CO alarms cannot be bypassed and trigger regardless of arming state. The IQ5 NS monitors the connection continuously and alerts you if the detector goes offline or the battery is low. Add a monitoring plan for central station CO dispatch and expand your protection with additional PowerG sensors throughout the home.

Adding the 2GIG-00100-345 CO detector to your IQ5 NS gives you 24-hour wireless carbon monoxide protection managed through the IQ Installer app on the IQ5 NS.
