How Do I Add a 2GIG Flood and Temp Sensor to the IQ5 Hub?

To add a 2GIG flood and temp sensor to the IQ5 Hub, install the IQ QC0005-840 345 MHz daughter card first. Go to Advanced Settings, Installation, Devices, Security Sensors, and touch Auto Learn. The FT100-345 supports two zones — Loop 1 for flood detection and Loop 2 for temperature.

About the 2GIG-FT100-345

The IQ5 Hub (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) is compatible with the 2GIG-FT100-345 flood and temperature sensor. The IQ QC0005-840 345 MHz daughter card must be installed before enrollment. The FT100-345 has two inputs programmed as two independent zones — Loop 1 for flood detection using probe contacts on the base, and Loop 2 for temperature alerts when conditions go above or below a threshold. Each loop is enrolled separately.

For the flood zone, use Group 38 (Water Sensor) to report to the central station, or Group 25 for local alert only. For temperature, use Group 52 (Low Temp) or Group 53 (High Temp). Both zones are always active. With a monitoring plan, alerts reach the central station for prompt notification on your security system.

Step 1: Enroll Loop 1 — Flood Detection

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen and touch Settings. The Settings page opens.

2. Touch Advanced Settings and enter the Installer Code (1111 by default). The Advanced Settings menu opens.

3. Touch Installation, Devices, Security Sensors, then Auto Learn Sensor. The panel enters listening mode.

4. Press the tamper button on the FT100-345 to send a signal. The panel chimes and displays the DL ID. Source shows SRF345.

5. Set Loop to 1, Sensor Type to Environmental, choose Sensor Group 38 or 25, add a name, and touch Add New. Use Group 38 to report water to the central station or Group 25 for local alert only. Name it like Water Heater Flood and touch Add New.

Step 2: Enroll Loop 2 — Temperature Alert

1. Return to Auto Learn Sensor and press the tamper button again. The panel opens the configuration screen for the same DL ID.

2. Set Loop to 2, Sensor Type to Environmental, choose Group 52 or 53, add a name, and touch Add New. Group 52 (Low Temp) alerts on cold conditions. Group 53 (High Temp) alerts on heat. Name it like Basement Temp and touch Add New.

After Adding the Sensor

Test the flood zone by briefly shorting the probe contacts on the base of the unit. Place the sensor flat on the floor with probes facing down. Both zones are always active and cannot be bypassed. Add a monitoring plan so alerts reach the central station when you are away.
