How Do I Add a 2GIG Panic Button to the IQ5 NS Security System?

To add a 2GIG panic button to the IQ5 NS, install the IQ QC0005-840 345 MHz daughter card first. Open the IQ Installer app and connect to the panel. Navigate to Installation, Devices, Security Sensors, select Auto Learn Sensor, touch Start Autolearn, and press the PANIC100-345 button.

Before You Begin

The IQ5 NS (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) is a screenless security system panel compatible with the 2GIG-PANIC100-345 panic button. The IQ QC0005-840 345 MHz daughter card must be installed before enrollment. All enrollment is done through the IQ Installer app. The button enrolls as an Auxiliary Pendant. With a monitoring plan, pressing the button dispatches the appropriate emergency services.

Choose your Sensor Group before enrolling. Group 1 (Mobile Intrusion) triggers a police panic, is unsupervised, and is suitable for a carried button. Group 4 (Fixed Auxiliary) triggers an auxiliary panic, is supervised, and is best for a fixed location. Group 3 (Mobile Silent) sends a silent police panic. All 345 MHz panic buttons use Loop 1 only.

Steps to Add the Panic Button

1. Open the IQ Installer app and connect to the IQ5 NS panel. The Configuration menu opens in the app.

2. Navigate to Installation, then Devices, then Security Sensors. The Security Sensors menu opens.

3. Select Auto Learn Sensor and touch Start Autolearn. The panel enters listening mode for a 345 MHz signal.

4. Press the button on the 2GIG-PANIC100-345. The app displays the DL ID with a confirmation prompt. Source shows SRF345. Leave Loop at Loop 1 — the only option for 345 MHz panic buttons.

5. Touch OK, set Sensor Type to Auxiliary Pendant, choose a Sensor Group and Name, then touch Save. Use Group 1 for a carried police panic, Group 4 for a fixed auxiliary panic, or Group 3 for a silent panic. Enter a name like Panic Button or Bedroom Panic and touch Save to complete enrollment.

After Adding the Panic Button

Test the button after enrollment by pressing it and confirming the panel triggers the correct alarm type. For fixed locations, use a supervised group so the panel alerts you if the button loses communication or the battery runs low. Unsupervised groups are suitable for carried buttons but do not provide battery or signal monitoring. A monitoring plan ensures panic signals reach the central station for emergency dispatch.
