How Do I Add a 2GIG Wireless Repeater to the IQ5 NS System?

To add a 2GIG wireless repeater to the IQ5 NS, install the IQ QC0005-840 345 MHz daughter card first. Open the IQ Installer app and connect to the panel. Navigate to Installation, Devices, Security Sensors, select Auto Learn Sensor, touch Start Autolearn, and press the test button.

What the 2GIG-RPTR100-345 Does

The IQ5 NS (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) is a screenless security system panel compatible with the 2GIG-RPTR100-345 wireless indoor repeater. This device extends the range of 345 MHz sensors that cannot reliably reach the panel. The RPTR100-345 picks up weak 345 MHz signals and retransmits them to the panel. The IQ QC0005-840 345 MHz daughter card must be installed before enrollment. All enrollment is done through the IQ Installer app.

The repeater only extends 345 MHz sensor signals — it does not work with PowerG, Z-Wave, or any other frequency. It enrolls as Sensor Type Repeater, Group 0, Loop 1, and has no alarm capability of its own. Place it halfway between the panel and the sensors that are struggling to communicate, within range of the panel.

Steps to Add the Repeater

1. Open the IQ Installer app and connect to the IQ5 NS panel. The Configuration menu opens in the app.

2. Navigate to Installation, then Devices, then Security Sensors. The Security Sensors menu opens.

3. Select Auto Learn Sensor and touch Start Autolearn. The panel enters listening mode for a 345 MHz signal.

4. Press the test button on the 2GIG-RPTR100-345. The app displays the DL ID. Source shows SRF345. Leave Loop at Loop 1 — the only option for 345 MHz repeaters.

5. Touch OK, set Sensor Type to Repeater, choose Group 0, add a name, and touch Save. Enter a name such as Garage Repeater or Basement Repeater and touch Save to complete enrollment.

After Adding the Repeater

After enrollment, run a sensor test through the IQ Installer app to confirm out-of-range 345 MHz sensors are now communicating correctly. Navigate to Tests and select Sensor Test. The repeater has no alarm function — if it loses communication, a trouble condition is generated on the panel. Add a monitoring plan to ensure all sensors report to the central station and add more 345 MHz sensors to expand your coverage.

Adding the 2GIG-RPTR100-345 to your IQ5 NS extends the range of 345 MHz sensors that are too far from the panel to communicate reliably on the IQ5 NS.
