How Do I Delete a Zone From a DSC PowerSeries NEO?

You can delete a zone from a DSC PowerSeries NEO by entering zone programming, selecting the option to delete a zone, and then choosing the zone you want to delete. This will clear the zone from the panel. If you are using a PowerG Sensor, then you may want to default that sensor after deletion.

Please note that if you are wanting to delete a hardwired zone from the NEO, the best option is to just simply clear the Zone Definition. This is done by entering [*] + [8] + [Installer Code] to enter programming. Then enter programming field [001] to access Zone Definitions. Locate the 3-digit zone number for the wired zone, and press [*] to select it. Then enter in [000] for "Null Zone". This will effectively delete the wired zone and make it inactive.

Complete the following steps to delete a wireless zone from a DSC PowerSeries NEO:

1. Enter wireless programming. Start from the main screen of your push-button keypad. Enter [*] + [8] + [Installer Code] to enter programming. Remember that the default Installer Code is 5555. If you see "Select (000) Program Labels", then you have successfully entered programming. Then enter [804] to access wireless programming. You should see "Select (000) Enroll Device".

2. Access delete zone menu. On your keypad, enter [901].You will be taken to the sub-menu where you can delete zones.

3. Delete the zone. Use the arrow keys (< & >) to find the 3-digit Zone Number of the zone you want to delete. You can also enter the 3-digit Zone Number using the keypad. Once you get to the proper Zone Number, press the [*] key to select that zone. You will see the Sensor ID, also called the Serial Number, for the sensor. Press [*] one more time to delete it.

4. Return to main screen. Repeatedly press the [#] key until you return to the main screen.

Note: If you have deleted the zone for a PowerG Sensor, then that sensor will think that it is still enrolled with the system. In order to re-enroll the PowerG Sensor (whether it is the same system or a different one), you will need to factory default the sensor before enrolling. More information on factory defaulting a PowerG Sensor can be found here.
