How Do I Register the 3GL Cellular Module on an L5200?
You can register the 3GL cellular module on an L5200 by contacting your alarm monitoring company and having them register the communicator. When doing so, your alarm monitoring company will ask you to provide the MAC address and the CRC of the module in order to complete the process.
Complete the following steps to register the 3GL cellular module on an L5200:
1. Obtain the MAC and CRC codes. You can find the MAC address and the CRC code on a sticker that is found on the 3GL cellular module. The MAC address is a 12 character code that begins with "00D02D", and the CRC is a 4 character code that consists of a mixture of both letters and numbers.
If the module has already been installed within the panel, you can find the codes in the programming menu of the panel. To obtain the codes through programming, from the home screen of the panel, go to Security > More > Tools > enter installer code (default is 4112) > Program > Comm. Diagnostics > Down Arrow > Communication ID Numbers. You will be asked to provide these codes when registering the communicator. The video below will assist with finding the MAC and CRC through panel programming.
2. Register the communicator. Contact your alarm monitoring company and tell them that you would like to register your 3GL cellular module with your security panel. You will be asked to provide the MAC and CRC of the communicator. Your alarm monitoring company will verify that the communicator was successfully registered.
3. Verify the registration. You can verify that the communicator was registered by checking the Communication Status page under Comm. Diagnostics. To access this page, from the home screen of the panel, go to Security > More > Tools > enter installer code (default is 4112) > Program > Comm. Diagnostics > down arrow > Communication Status.
If the communicator was installed and registered properly, GSM should be listed as "OK", and "AlarmNet Registration: Registered" will be displayed. The following video will help with the installation of the 3GL.
