How Do I Run Power To A 2GIG GC3?
There are two ways users can run power to the2GIG GC3 control panel.
Using 2 conductor wire, measure the length of wire needed to run from the 2GIG GC3 panel to the included transformer. Usually 18 gauge wire is used, but the following guidelines are recommended: guidlines: 22AWG- MAX distance 75ft, 20AWG- MAX distance 120ft, 18AWG- MAX distance 170ft , 16AWG- MAX distance 270ft.
Connect the wires to the transformer and screw to tighten. Connect the positive wire to the PWR+ on the terminal board and tighten with the terminal screw. Connect the negative wire to the PWR- on the terminal board and tighten with the terminal screw
The other option is the 2GIG AC2 Plug or the new and improved LT Cable. The LT Cable is 8 feet long and has been revamped to have 2 pig tails plus a DC barrel plug. Insert the LT Cable through the back cutout of the GC3 panel and plug in the barrel connector into the DC power adapter power jack located on the back of the panel.
Locate an outlet that is not connected to a wall switch. Attach the included wall bracket to the outlet and secure it by tightening the screw.
Before plugging in your transformer, install and connect the backup battery. Insert the battery connector pin into the PCB battery connector located just behind the DC barrel jack.
Plug the transformer into the outlet and secure with a zip tie.
