How Do I Turn On Wellness Support on the IQ5 Hub System?

To turn on Wellness Support on the IQ5 Hub, swipe down and touch Settings, then Advanced Settings, and enter your Installer Code. Next, touch Installation, then Installer Settings, and then enable Wellness Support so an Auxiliary pendant acts as a quiet medical alert instead of a loud alarm.

What Wellness Support Does

Wellness Support turns the IQ5 Hub (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) into more of a personal emergency response, or PERS, setup. When it is enabled, an Auxiliary pendant learned into sensor Group 6 behaves like a traditional medical alert button. A press quietly sends a signal to Alarm.com for help rather than setting off a loud local siren that would need to be disarmed between presses. It is well suited to aging-in-place and medical-monitoring situations on your security system.

Wellness Support is disabled by default, so out of the box an Auxiliary pendant triggers a standard audible alarm. There is one important limitation: Wellness Support cannot be enabled if Partitions are turned on, so if you use Partitions, you will need to choose between the two. It works alongside the separate Wellness Page, an on-screen page you can enable for wellness features.

Before You Begin

Wellness Support is in the Installer Settings, which require the Installer Code (1111 by default) or Dealer Code (2222 by default). The steps below use the Installer Code. You will also want an Auxiliary pendant enrolled into Group 6 for the feature to apply, and Partitions must be disabled, since the two cannot be used together.

Tips

Wellness Support is most useful when someone in the home wears an Auxiliary pendant for medical reasons, since it avoids a jarring siren every time the button is pressed while still getting help on the way through Alarm.com. For the full wellness experience, you can also enable the separate Wellness Page on the IQ5 Hub, which adds an on-screen page, and the Check-in/Check-out feature, which lets a visiting nurse check in and out with a panel photo as a record of the visit. Remember that none of these can be used at the same time as Partitions.

Turning on Wellness Support on the IQ5 Hub lets a pendant work like a quiet medical alert instead of a loud alarm.
