How Do I View Panel Camera Photos on the IQ5 Hub System?

To view panel camera photos on the IQ5 Hub, swipe to the Panel Camera Page on the home screen. The built-in camera captures a disarm photo each time the system is disarmed, so you can see who disarmed the panel and when. Any alarm photos taken during an alarm event appear on the same page.

About Panel Camera Photos

The IQ5 Hub (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) has a built-in 8MP camera that automatically takes a photo whenever the system is disarmed. These Disarm Photos give you a visual record of who disarmed the panel and at what time, which is a great way to confirm the kids got home or see who came in while you were out. The photos are stored right on the panel and viewed on the Panel Camera Page.

The same camera also captures an Alarm Photo during an alarm event, so you have an image from the moment an alarm was triggered on your security system. Both features are enabled by default. Together they turn the panel into a simple visual log of important events, without needing to pull up a separate Alarm.com feed.

Before You Begin

The Panel Camera must be enabled for these photos to be captured and for the Panel Camera Page to appear; it is on by default. No code is needed to view the photos unless your images are set as secure, in which case a valid code is required to view or delete them. If you do not see the page or any photos, the Panel Camera or Disarm Photos setting may have been turned off in Advanced Settings.

View Your Panel Camera Photos

  1. Swipe to the Panel Camera Page. From the home screen, swipe [left/right] to reach the Panel Camera Page, where the panel's captured photos are shown.

Swipe to the Panel Camera Page from the home screen.
  2. Choose a tab. The page has four tabs. Use DISARM to see disarm photos, ALARMS to see alarm-event photos, SETTINGS for the camera settings, and ALL to see every photo together. Touch the tab you want.

Choose the Disarm, Settings, Alarms, or All tab.
  3. Open a photo fullscreen. Touch any photo to open it fullscreen and confirm the date, time, and the face of whoever disarmed the panel. If your images are secure, enter a valid code when prompted.

Touch a photo to view it fullscreen.

Delete Panel Camera Photos

  1. Select the photos to delete. On the tab you are viewing, touch the empty box next to each photo you want to remove. A checkmark appears on every photo you select.

Check the box on each photo you want to delete.
  2. Touch the trash can. With your photos checked, touch the trash can to delete everything you selected. Deleting photos cannot be undone, so make sure you no longer need them first.

Touch the trash can to delete the selected photos.

Tips

The Settings tab also holds Settings Photos, a separate feature that snaps a photo each time someone enters Advanced Settings. It is off by default, so that tab stays empty until you enable it, which is why you may see a message that there are no photos to display there. Disarm Photos work best when the panel is mounted where it captures a clear view of whoever disarms it, so keep that in mind with placement. For an extra layer of privacy, images can be set as secure so a code is required to view or delete them. For a text record of every arm and disarm with user names, your Alarm.com monitoring account keeps a full activity history that pairs well with these panel photos.
