Is There an LTE Communicator For a VISTA 21iPLTE Panel
Yes, there is an LTE communicator for a VISTA 21iPLTE Panel. There is the Honeywell Home LTE-21V with service from the Verizon LTE Network, as well as the Honeywell Home LTE-21A with service from the AT&T LTE Network. As of late September 2019, only the LTE-21V has been released.
The Honeywell Home VISTA 21iPLTE is able to support convenient plug-in LTE communicators that are designed exclusively for use with this system. These plug-in modules are perfect for DIY users, as they can connect with the system board very easily. Since the VISTA21iPLTE already has a built-in IP communicator, adding one of these modules will make the system dual-path ready. This is very important for achieving fast and reliable monitoring service. In the event that the internet goes down, the VISTA 21iPLTE System will automatically switch over to its cellular backup.
When selecting an LTE communicator for a VISTA21iPLTE System, you can choose between the LTE-21V and the LTE-21A. The LTE-21V communicates across the Verizon LTE Network, while the LTE-21A communicates across the AT&T LTE Network. Unfortunately, the LTE-21A has not yet been released as of late September 2019. If you can get decent coverage from the Verizon LTE Network, you should just go with the LTE-21V. If you need coverage from AT&T LTE, then you will need to wait for he LTE-21A to come out. The hope is that the LTE-21A will be made available sometime in the near future.
In order to activate any cellular communicator, you will need a monitoring plan that includes cellular service. Alarm Grid customers can choose between any Gold or Platinum Level Monitoring Plan (Self or Full). Activating the communicator will connect it with the AlarmNet360 Servers for monitoring service. It will also allow you to use Total Connect 2.0 with the system. This is an interactive monitoring and automation platform that you can use to control your system remotely. By accessing Total Connect 2.0, you can arm and disarm, check current system status, control automation devices, and more.
