Why Did My Panel Report Code E339 "Power on Reset"?
Your panel reports the code E339 "Power on Reset" to indicate that its communicator has been reset. The communicator can be reset for many different reasons. Some of these reasons include sending programming changes, applying a firmware update or powering the device off and on.
The E339 "Power on Reset" message will be reported on any Honeywell VISTA, Honeywell LYNX Touch or Honeywell Lyric Controller that has had its communicator reset. There are many reasons for a communicator to be reset. For example, certain programming changes for the communicator and firmware updates may require a reset. The E339 message will also be reported if the communicator was powered off and then back on for any reason. AlarmNet also has the ability to send a manual reset to the communicator.
A E339 message does not necessarily mean that anything is wrong with the communicator. It just means that the module had to be reset. In most cases, the communicator will function like normal after the message has been displayed. If the reset took place because of a firmware update, the message E903 "Start FW" will be reported prior to the E339 message. This indicates that the firmware update process has started. Once the firmware update is fully complete, the message R903 "Complete FW" will be displayed. You are free to contact Alarm Grid if you would like to find out if your communicator is running the latest firmware version.
If you ever want us to reset your communicator for any reason, you may contact us online or over the phone to have a manual reset sent out to the module. Additionally, if we anticipate that Honeywell will soon be pushing out an automatic firmware update for your communicator, we may post a blog about it beforehand. Please check our blog regularly so that you are aware of these updates.
