Description

The Honeywell SiXMINICT is Honeywell's second generation Six Series encrypted door/window contact. The first generation encrypted door/window sensor was the SiXCT. This was the first contact to offer encrypted bi-directional communication to a Honeywell alarm system. However, many alarm owners and installers complained about its large, bulky size compared to other industry standards. The release of the SiXMINICT will have these same folks very excited!

A super slim and compact design still offers the same level of encryption (128-bit AES encryption) as the much larger predecessor, the SiXCT. The SiXMINICT itself provides an impressive range of 200 feet away from the receiver. The discreet sensor has even been tested to work from a further distance away if few obstacles are present. One of the ways in which this sensor achieves its low profile is by use of a CR2450 battery. This coin cell battery provides ample power in a small package. There are plenty of situations where the size of the larger SiXCT simply will not fit on the door jamb or window casing. The flexibility of the MINI contact makes most alarm installations a breeze. Although Honeywell packaged the SIXMINICT in a tiny body, they did not sacrifice on technology.

The industry leading wireless range of SiX series devices makes it easy to protect areas like detached garages and sheds without relocating your alarm panel. The SiX series line of sensors is only supported by the Lyric Controller and Lyric Gateway. These are the only Honeywell alarm systems with a transceiver that supports the 2.4GHz WIFI that carries the encrypted SiX RF signals between the sensors and the control panel. The Lyric panels also supports Honeywell 5800 Series Sensors. Just keep in mind that these are not encrypted.

Tremendous Encrypted Compact Door/Window Contact!
Submitted on 09/17/2019 Alarm Grid

The Honeywell SiXMINICT is one of our most popular and widely used sensors. We are big fans of the Resideo Lyric Alarm System, and our go-to door and window contact for the system is the SiXMINICT. This sensor is great for its small and compact design, 128-bit AES communication, and impressive 200-foot communication range when used in a typical home or business. It has truly earned a 5 Star Rating.

There are so many things to love about the SiXMINICT. The first thing you will probably notice about the sensor is its small and compact design. It is much smaller than its predecessors, measuring in at just 2.44"L x 1.25"W x 0.45"D. Its thin profile allows it to go virtually unnoticed when used on a white door or window. But the small design does not mean that they skimped on performance. The sensor will communicate from up to 200 feet away when used in most homes and businesses. The nominal, "open air" range is actually a little bit further, but considering obstacles is important.

Honeywell made the SiXMINICT because they wanted a smaller and more compact option available than the bulkier SiXCT Contact. To accomplish this, Honeywell removed the hardwired input terminals from the SiXMINICT. Unlike the SiXCT, you cannot use the SiXMINICT as a wireless transmitter for a Normally Closed hardwired contact. But most users will not need this feature anyway. Besides, if you are using the sensor as a transmitter for another sensor, then a compact design probably isn't the biggest selling point.

We also love the 128-bit AES encryption used with the SiXMINICT. This makes the sensor virtually impossible for others to hack or takeover wireless. It is also immune to any RF jamming techniques. Overall, we think the Honeywell SiXMINICT is a fantastic sensor. Our technicians have found that it works exceptionally well, and they frequently recommend it to anyone with a Lyric Security System. In fact, we include the SiXMINICT Sensors in our encrypted Lyric System Kits. This is a great sensor, and we cannot recommend it enough. It deserves 5 Stars.

Only zones set for Entry/Exit 1, Entry/Exit 2, Perimeter, Interior Follower or Interior w/ Delay as the Response Type will cause a specific zone alarm push notification on HomeKit. All other audible alarm events, including those caused by life-safety zones, will only cause a general Lyric System Alert in HomeKit. Hello! Any suggestions on how (if?) you can use these on interior doors? I attempted to set it up as a door with a general monitor response type, bu tit doesn't show up in HomeKit. My goal is to turn on a light when opening an interior door. Thanks!
They can be painted Just need to make sure the circuit board is removed. paint it the color you want then mount it.
Just received my Honeywell SiXMINICT - Wireless Door/Window Contacts, can they be painted? Would that affect the wireless at all?
How I can order replacement magnets?
Hi Zack, thanks for sharing. You never know who your information will help.
This works with ADT Command if anyone wanted to know.
I am sorry that has happened to you. Please let us know if the SIxCt's work better in your situation.
I have 5 of the mini sixct sensors on a Lyric controller. The front door sensor faulted with a low battery after 1 1/2 years. Replacing the battery did not clear the low battery fault despite multiple attempts to reset the fault. All 4 of the other mini sixct have a battery condition in the yellow. I think the 5 year expected life is a pipe dream. I will start replacing the sensors with the full size Sixct and hope the larger battery lasts longer.
Will this sensor work in a double-hung window install like the 5800MINI and 5811 do?
But Chime is disabled when I program it that way. Any other way?
You could program the Storage Room Door as a door and set Response Type As General Monitor.
I'd like to monitor a storage room door, however I do not want it to set off the alarm. I just want to hear a chime when it's opened. What would be the appropriate settings for this in Device Type and Response Type? Thx.
