Can a zone be chime only with no alarm trigger?

On the Vista-15P and Vista-20P panels you have the option to use a configurable zone type to create a chime only zone.

In programming, enter *182 then the following sequence of 10 digits (be sure to use the # in front of 15 in the 2nd entry): 0, #15, 0, 7, 0, 3, 0, 0, 0, 4.

For a Hardwire zone, make the following entries in *182 (again, be sure to include the # keys as shown):  #12, #15, #12, 7, #12, 3, 0, 0, 0, 4

This gives you a fault only RF or Hardwired Zone (which will display on the keypad) which will chime.  A fault on this zone will not keep you from arming the system, and you can bypass the zone if you wish.  If you'd like not to see the faults on this zone show on the keypad at all, add 3 to the existing entry in digit 7, like this:
Option 1:  0, #15, 0, 7, 0, 3, 3, 0, 0, 4
Option 2:  #12, #15, #12, 7, #12, 3, 3, 0, 0, 4
Even though this zone will never report an alarm, I still recommend you enter *183 + 1, 3, 1, 3, 8, 0. This is for event log purposes, as the event log shows everything in Contact ID if you leave this field set to all 0's, and the system needs to log something, such as a tamper on an RF zone,  it can cause unpredictable results in the event log.
Finally, enter zone programming (*56) go to the zone in question, and make it a Zone Type 90.
