Can I Use an External Siren on the Lyric Gateway?

Yes, an external Six Siren can be used on the Lyric Gateway System.

The Six Sensors are fully encrypted, bi-directional, wireless sensors with an operating range of approximately 300 feet. Within the SiX Sensor line is the Six Siren. This is a battery operated, wireless siren with an output sounder level of 85dB. The siren uses 4 AA lithium batteries that are estimated to last up to 5 years with normal use. The siren can be installed anywhere within its operating range and requires one zone on the system to operate. This zone is used to supervise the SiX Siren for low battery, check in, and tamper. The SiX Siren is an external siren, meaning that it’s separate from the system, but it is not rated for outdoor use. At this time, there is no other compatible external siren for the Gateway.

The Lyric Gateway comes with a ready to use, built in WIFI communicator and Z-Wave controller. The system is able to support up to 76 Z-Wave devices - 6 Z-wave thermostats, 6 Z-Wave door locks, 4 Z-Wave garage doors, 60 Z-Wave light and appliance modules and 4 Lyric Wifi thermostats can be simultaneously enrolled. The top plate of the unit can be removed to reveal expansion bays where a cellular communicator can be installed. The communicator can be of the AT&T or Verizon variety, and easily installs by sliding into the specified bay. The Gateway also has an integrated Ethernet jack. The Lyric Gateway can send all of its communication over a single communication path (Ethernet, WIFI or Cellular) or use a combination of WIFI or Ethernet and Cellular in a Dual Path setup. With dual path enabled, the system will use WIFI or Ethernet as its primary mode of communication, and automatically switch to cellular as a backup path if the primary path fails.
