How Can I Connect Wirelessly To a L5200 With A iPad?

Connecting your ipad wirelessly to a L5200 is a simple process of downloading an app.

Total Connect 2.0 app works with both the L5200 and the L7000 when paired with a WiFi communicator (L5100-WiFi), ethernet or cell communicator (GSMVLP5-4G). You can download the iPad app from the iTunes® App Store. Android app is available in the Google Play Store.

Once an account has been created for you through a monitoring company and you've downloaded the app on your iPad, simply log into your account and set up your notifications. Receive a 5 day forecast, news, traffic and messages provided by your security provider to keep you updated on all the latest products. Receive emails and text notifications on any system event that takes place such as arms/disarms, low battery, system trouble, a/c loss, and so much more. View and receive notifications on cameras and control home automation Z-Wave products such as lights, door locks, thermostats and a garage door as well.

Honeywell’s Lynx Connect App works with both the L5200 and the L7000 that are paired with a WiFi communicator (iLP5 or L5100-WiFI). Follow the same procedure, download the iPad app from the iTunes® App Store. Android app is available in the Google Play Store.

Once you've downloaded the app on your iPad, set up your account. You do not need a monitoring company to set up an account. The Honeywell Lynx Connect App will provide “local” control only of your security system. You will also be able to control any Z-Wave products you have; lights, door locks and thermostat and garage door. You will also have the ability to view any Alarmnet IP cameras from your iPad.

Unfortunately, Honeywell discontinued the News and Traffic features as of September 1st of this year as they said their analytics showed that not enough people were using these features for it to be worth them supporting those features so the 5-day weather forecast is now the only option. You can sign up online at https://www.alarmgrid.com/monitoring once you are ready to switch to us.
I have a lynx 7000 and I only receive 5 day weather? My provider says the only option for information services is basic. What does that mean? I would really like news and traffic as well. Any help would be appreciated as to how to walk them through it. Once my contract is up I'm going to contact you guys because you seem very knowledgeable. Thanks!
