How Do I Add a 2GIG Glass Break Detector to the IQ5 Hub?

To add a 2GIG glass break detector to the IQ5 Hub, install the IQ QC0005-840 345 MHz daughter card first. Go to Advanced Settings, Installation, Devices, Security Sensors, touch Auto Learn, press the test button on the GB100-345, set Sensor Type to Glass Break, and choose a Sensor Group.

Before You Begin

The IQ5 Hub (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) does not have a built-in glass break detector, so external sensors are the only source of glass break protection. The 2GIG-GB100-345 is a 345 MHz wireless glass break detector that covers rooms with windows, glass doors, or skylights. The IQ QC0005-840 345 MHz daughter card must be installed before enrollment.

Group 13 (Glass Break) is active in both Stay and Away modes. Group 17 (Glass Break Away Only) is active only in Away mode — useful for rooms you use while home. All 345 MHz glass break sensors use Loop 1 only. With a monitoring plan, glass break events are reported to the central station immediately.

Steps to Add the Glass Break Detector

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen and touch Settings. The Settings page opens.

2. Touch Advanced Settings and enter the Installer Code (1111 by default). The Advanced Settings menu opens.

3. Touch Installation, then Devices, then Security Sensors. The Security Sensors menu opens.

4. Touch Auto Learn Sensor. The panel enters listening mode for a 345 MHz signal.

5. Press the test button on the 2GIG-GB100-345. The panel chimes and displays the DL ID. Source shows SRF345. Leave Loop at Loop 1.

6. Touch OK, set Sensor Type to Glass Break, choose a Sensor Group and Name, then touch Add New. Use Group 13 for Stay and Away protection or Group 17 for Away only. Enter a name like Kitchen Window or Sliding Door and touch Add New.

Placement and Testing

Mount the GB100-345 on the ceiling or wall within detection range of the windows it covers — typically up to 25 feet. Test by pressing and holding the test button until the panel triggers a glass break alarm. Add a monitoring plan for central station dispatch and protect every window in your security system with additional detectors as needed.
