How Do I Add a 2GIG Water Leak Detector to the IQ5 Hub?

To add a 2GIG water leak detector to the IQ5 Hub, install the IQ QC0005-840 345 MHz daughter card first. Go to Advanced Settings, Installation, Devices, Security Sensors, and touch Auto Learn Sensor. Trigger the FTD100-345 to send a signal, set Sensor Type to Water, and choose a Sensor Group.

Before You Begin

The IQ5 Hub (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) is compatible with the 2GIG-FTD100-345 Water Leak Detector, a 345 MHz wireless sensor. The panel requires the IQ QC0005-840 345 MHz daughter card installed before enrolling this sensor. If not yet installed, power down the panel, seat the card in the expansion slot, and reboot before starting enrollment.

Once enrolled, the sensor is always active — monitoring for water 24 hours a day regardless of arming state. Use Group 38 (Water Sensor) to report detections to your monitoring station, or Group 25 (Water Non-Reporting) for a local alert only. Good placement locations include under sinks, near water heaters, beside washing machines, and under refrigerators.

Steps to Add the Water Leak Detector

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen and touch Settings. The Settings page opens.

2. Touch Advanced Settings and enter the Installer Code (1111 by default). The Advanced Settings menu opens.

3. Touch Installation, then Devices, then Security Sensors. The Security Sensors menu opens.

4. Touch Auto Learn Sensor. The panel enters listening mode for a 345 MHz signal.

5. Trigger the FTD100-345 to send a signal. Press the test/tamper button or briefly short the two metal sensor probes. The panel chimes and displays the DL ID.

6. Touch OK, set Sensor Type to Water, select Sensor Sub-Type Other Flood, choose a Sensor Group and Name, then touch Add New. Use Group 38 to report to the central station or Group 25 for local-only. Name the sensor by location such as Basement or Water Heater.

After Adding the Sensor

Place the FTD100-345 flat on the floor with the metal detection probes facing down. Test the sensor by briefly shorting the probes to confirm the panel responds. The sensor is now supervised — the panel monitors its connection and alerts you if communication is lost or the battery is low. Add a monitoring plan to ensure water alerts reach the central station even when you are not home. Protect multiple locations in your security system by enrolling additional FTD100-345 sensors for each vulnerable area.
