How Do I Get My ADC-V523 Added to My Alarm.com Account Via the Mobile App?

You can get your ADC-V523 added to your Alarm.com account via the mobile app by first getting the camera connected to a WIFI network, then accessing your ADC account through the mobile app, accessing the Add Video Device Menu, and providing the camera's unique 12-character MAC Address.


This FAQ assumes that you already have an Alarm.com account with video services enabled. If you do not have an Alarm.com account, or if you need video services enabled for your Alarm.com account, then you should reach out to your monitoring company for more information. Complete the following steps to add an ADC-V523 to an Alarm.com account using the mobile app:

1. Connect camera to network. Start by getting your ADC-V523 Camera online if you haven't already. This process can be completed through WPS pairing or through AP Mode pairing. Of those two options, WPS pairing is more popular and easier, but AP Mode pairing is safer and more secure. Both techniques accomplish the same task. You will know that the ADC-V523 is online because its LED light will be solid green. Continue to the next step once the LED is solid green showing that the camera is online.

2. Access the mobile app. Turn your attention to your Android or iOS device with the Alarm.com Mobile App successfully installed. The app can be obtained from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store if needed. Once you have the app, open it up, and log in to your account using your username and password. If two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled on your account, then verify your identity so that you can successfully access your account. Reach out to your monitoring provider if you are having trouble accessing Alarm.com.

3. Enter Add Video Device. You must navigate to the proper menu where you can add a video device. Once you have logged-in, start by clicking the three (3) horizontal bars in the upper-left corner. Then select Video, followed by the Settings Button (the gear) in the upper-right corner. Then choose Add Video Device. You will access the Add Video Device Menu.

4. Pair the camera. Alarm.com should find the ADC-V523 Camera right away if it is connected to WIFI. You can press the blue Install button to proceed. If the camera needs a firmware update, then the blue button will instead say "Upgrade and Install". Just be aware that updating the camera can take upwards of thirty (30) minutes in some cases. You can then follow the on-screen prompts to finish enrolling the ADC-V523 Camera.


If you cannot get the camera to appear automatically, then you might instead enter the 12-character MAC Address manually. It can be found on the underside of the camera, next to a QR code. You can also press the small icon in the far right side of the Enter MAC Address field to access the camera for your mobile device so that you can scan the ADC-V523 MAC Address QR Code and have it entered automatically. This will save you the trouble of having to enter it yourself. Press the blue Install or Upgrade & Install button when you are ready to begin the setup process. The camera will successfully pair with your account after you have completed the necessary on-screen prompts.
