How Do I Turn On ULC Power Restoration on the IQ5 NS System?
To turn on ULC Commercial Power Restoration on the IQ5 NS, open the IQ Installer app and navigate to the Installer Settings, then enable ULC Commercial Power Restoration for a full 120 second hold on sensor activity. Because the panel has no screen of its own, this is all done in the app.
About ULC Commercial Power Restoration
ULC Commercial Power Restoration is a false-alarm-reduction feature on the IQ5 NS (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE). When power is restored after an outage, sensors can briefly report activity as they power back up, which can cause a nuisance alarm. With this setting enabled, the panel ignores all sensor activity for 120 seconds after power comes back, giving your security system a two-minute window to settle before it acts on any sensor signals.
The feature is disabled by default, so out of the box the panel responds to sensors immediately when power returns. As the name suggests, the 120-second hold is intended to meet ULC commercial installation requirements, which call for a longer settling window than a typical home. Turning it on changes only the brief period right after power is restored and does not affect how sensors behave during normal operation.
Before You Begin
Because the IQ5 NS has no screen, its Installer Settings are reached through the IQ Installer app. If you have not yet connected the IQ Installer app to your panel, see our guide on setting up the IQ5 NS with the IQ Installer app before proceeding. This is the commercial, 120-second version of the power-restoration hold, which is a longer settling window than a shorter residential setting.

Tips
This 120-second hold applies only right after power returns and does not reduce your protection, so enabling it is a safe way to cut down on false alarms following an outage. It pairs well with the panel's other false-alarm tools, so if nuisance alarms are a concern you may also want to review your Swinger Shutdown settings on the IQ5 NS, which limit repeat trips from a single sensor. The hold does not change how sensors behave during normal operation.
