Is the PROA7PLUS Compatible w/ All Resideo PROSIX Sensors?

Yes, the PROA7PLUS is compatible with all Resideo PROSIX Sensors. All PROSIX Sensors will work with the Honeywell Home PROA7PLUS. You can also pair Honeywell SiX Series Sensors with the system, as well as legacy sensors from one (1) of five (5) legacy frequencies if a PROTAKEOVER is added.

The Honeywell Home and Resideo PROSIX Sensors are specifically built for use with ProSeries Alarm Panels like the PROA7PLUS. No additional hardware is needed for the system to support them. These encrypted sensors will enroll with the (127) encrypted zones on the system. Note that some PROSIX Sensors may require that the PROA7PLUS is on a high enough firmware version to support them. Some examples of PROSIX devices with this requirement are the PROSiX Wireless Repeater (PROSIXRPTR) and the PROSiX Wireless Heat (PROSIXHEAT), both of which require Firmware Version 3.591.92.0 or higher.

There is another set of encrypted sensors that can be used with the PROA7PLUS. These are sensors from the Honeywell SiX Series, which were originally built for use with the Honeywell Lyric. Just like the PROSIX Sensors, no additional hardware is needed for the PROA7PLUS to support the SiX Series Sensors. However, one interesting note with the SiX Sensors is that after one has been enrolled with a ProSeries Panel like the PROA7PLUS, it receives an update and once it does, it can never be used with a Lyric panel again. The Honeywell SiX Sensors occupy the same (127) encrypted sensor zones as the PROSIX Series Sensors.

Lastly, you can unlock (123) legacy sensor zones for the PROA7PLUS by installing a PROTAKEOVER Module inside the panel. This unit will allow you to begin enrolling non-encrypted sensors from one (1) of five (5) legacy frequencies with the PROA7PLUS or other ProSeries Alarm Panel. The legacy frequency that is supported is chosen by rotating a dial on the PROTAKEOVER Module before installing it inside the panel. The available selections include Honeywell 5800 Sensors, 2GIG 345 MHz Sensors, 319.5 MHz Sensors (Qolsys, Interlogix/GE), 433 MHz Sensors (DSC), or Bosch Sensors (433.4 MHz). When you combine the (123) legacy zones with the (127) encrypted zones, you reach the total (250) zones for the PROA7PLUS Alarm System. One note though is that the PROTAKEOVER Module cannot interface with legacy life-safety sensors and legacy key fobs. If you want to use life-safety sensors and/or key fobs with a PROA7PLUS or other ProSeries Panel, then you should use life-safety sensors and fobs from the PROSIX Series or SiX Series.

Please note though that technically each Zone Number 1 thru 250 can be used with an encrypted sensor or a legacy sensor. A new sensor programmed with the PROA7PLUS is assigned the lowest available Zone Number, regardless of whether that sensor is a legacy sensor or an encrypted sensor. Therefore, depending on the order you enroll the sensors, any Zone Number can be used with either sensor type. The only rule is that you can never exceed (127) encrypted zones or (123) legacy zones. And don't forget that the (123) legacy zones can only be used if a PROTAKEOVER Module has been installed.
