Which TC2 Chipset Revision Will Get Me Total Connect Compatibility?

The Honeywell Vista-15P and Vista-20P need to be a revision of 9.12 or higher to be compatible with Total Connect 2.0.

To check the revision of the Honeywell Vista-15P or Vista-20P

  1. Locate the panel which is mounted in a metal box
  2. In the middle of the panel there will be a 1 inch x 1 inch chip
  3. Note the number displayed. A Vista-20P should show WA20P-9.12 or higher, a Vista 15P should show WA15P-9.12 or higher. Any number lower than this and the panel will not support Total Connect 2.0.
  4. If the panel chip says WA20P-1.#, or WA15P-1.#, the panel can't be chip upgraded, and the entire panel will need to be replaced in order to support Total Connect 2.0.

Users can purchase a Honeywell Vista-15P prom chip or a Honeywell Vista-20P prom chip and a Honeywell GSM cellular communicator separately, but purchasing a kit is a better value. The kits include the communicator and chips to upgrade either the Vista-15P or the Vista-20P.

The iGSMV4G-TC2 is a dual communicator for the Honeywell Vista-15P and Vista-20P. The iGSMV4G-TC2 provides both internet and cellular communication. Users can opt to activate only the IP portion or only the cell. Dual communication is the most secure path of communication. If the internet connection is lost for any reason, the GSM cellular communicator uses the AT&T network and will step in and continue to send alarm signals from the panel to AlarmNet's servers. AlarmNet servers forward the signals to a central monitoring station and to Total Connect 2.0, if enabled.

The GSMX4G-TC2 is a GSM cellular communicator that uses the AT&T network and includes chips for both the Vista-15P and Vista-20P alarm control panels. The GSMX4G-TC2 runs off the Vista control panels AC and battery power. Users will need to calculate total power being drawn to see if an auxiliry power supply like the Honeywell AD12612 is needed.

The GSMV4G-TC2 is a GSM cellular communicator and includes prom chips for both the Vista-15P and Vista-20P. The GSMV4G-TC2 comes with it’s own backup battery and transformer so it doesn’t draw current from the alarm panel, so it doesn't factor into current draw/battery calculations. When calculating current drawn by the GSMV4G, it should be calculated at 10mA.

The Honeywell CDMA-X-TC2 is a cellular communicator that uses the Verizon network and includes the prom chips for both the Vista-15P and Vista-20P control panels.

The Vista-15P and Vista-20P will not lose any programming by replacing a prom chip.
