Description

The SIXCOMBO has been discontinued. If you have a Lyric, you can use the 5800COMBO. For a ProSeries panel, such as the PROA7, PROA7C, PROA7PLUS or PROA7PLUSC, choose the PROSIXCOMBO.

For complete and total life-safety protection on the Honeywell Lyric Alarm System, look no further than the Honeywell SiXCOMBO. This robust and versatile sensor features a smoke and heat sensor and a carbon monoxide detector all in one convenient package. One-go-all-go is also included.

The Honeywell SiXCOMBO is equipped with four individual sensing elements. This helps to ensure that life-threatening situations and hazards are detected as quickly as possible. These sensing elements include a photoelectric smoke detector for picking up airborne smoke particles, an IR sensor that measures ambient light and flame signatures and flickers, a thermal sensor that responds to temperatures of 135°F or higher, and a carbon monoxide sensor for detecting dangerous levels of harmful CO gas.

To enroll the Honeywell SiXCOMBO, we recommend using the innovative SiX Programming option. This menu can be accessed by going to Security > Tools > Installer Code (default 4112) > Program > down arrow > SiX Programming. The SiXCOMBO can then be learned into the Lyric System by removing the battery tab. If the SiXCOMBO is already powered on, just press and hold either test switch for 3 seconds to complete the process.

After doing this, the sensor will be assigned to three zones - one for smoke detection, one for heat detection, and one for carbon monoxide detection. This provides an easy and effective method for programming in one swoop. Alternatively, a user can still individually program the sensor zones if they would prefer to do that. But this method is much easier and more straightforward, so we strongly recommend it.

Another important aspect of the SiXCOMBO is the One-Go-All-Go feature. This feature affects any additional SiXCOMBO and Honeywell SiXSMOKE devices that are also programmed with the same Lyric System. As soon as a SiXCOMBO sensor is activated, all of the other sensors will activate as well. This can be crucial for ensuring that everyone in the building is alerted to the emergency. Each sensor is equipped with an 85 dB sounder that is plenty loud enough for alerting everyone in the building.

The SiXCOMBO also features a status indication LED light that can be used to indicate the current status of the sensor. A green LED light means the device is working properly. An amber LED light indicates that maintenance is required or that there is a trouble condition of some kind. For alarms, both the standard LED and the side LED lights will illuminate. Dual red LED lights indicates a fire alarm. A red LED light with a blue side LED light indicates a CO alarm.

Like all Honeywell SiX Series Sensors, the SiXCOMBO uses 128-bit AES encryption to prevent any takeovers or hacking attempts by others. The device is virtually impossible to takeover, and a user can feel confident that the sensor will always function properly. The SiXCOMBO communicates with the Lyric using a 2.4 GHz RF signal, and it is exclusively compatible with the Lyric Alarm System. The sensor provides two distinct test buttons for testing the smoke/heat and CO sensors. The device features a 10 year product life, and it uses four lithium CR123A camera batteries for power.

Awesome Combo Sensor!
Submitted on 05/18/2020 Alarm Grid

The Honeywell SiXCOMBO is a combination smoke, heat, and carbon monoxide sensor designed for use with the Honeywell Lyric Alarm System. This is a fantastic combination sensor that is recommended for any Lyric owner looking to achieve fire and CO detection in one single device. This is a very versatile and effective life-safety sensor, and it can certainly make a great addition to your Lyric System. That is why it receives 5 Stars from Alarm Grid.

There are many things we like about the Honeywell SiXCOMBO. For one, it combines both a smoke and heat detector and a CO detector into one convenient device. This way, you will not need to have two separate devices on your wall or ceiling for smoke and CO detection. The Honeywell SiXCOMBO is one-go-all-go, and other SiXCOMBO and SiXSMOKE devices on the same system will also begin sounding once one is activated. The sensor allows for easy auto-enrollment using the SiX Programming feature. The sensor has its own built-in 85 dB sounder for alerting building occupants. It uses 128-bit AES encryption for enhanced wireless security. We also like the fact that the SiXCOMBO has a great build quality.

There are some downsides for the SiXCOMBO that should be considered as well. The sensor will need separate zones for each function (smoke, heat, and CO detection). If you want full functionality for the device, one zone will not be sufficient. Since the SiXCOMBO is a CO detector, it only has a limited product life. In this case, it must be replaced after ten (10) years of use. And like any wireless sensor, you will need to replace the battery on a periodic basis. But overall, these downsides are relatively minor, and they do not stop us from giving the SiXCOMBO a perfect 5 Star rating.

Good: Multiple Functions, One-Go-All-Go, Auto-Enrollment, 85 dB Sounder, Encryption, Great Build Quality

Bad: Requires Individual Zone for Each Function, Limited Product Life, Requires Battery Replacements

Bottom Line: 5 Stars

At what ppm detection does the SixcomboA sound alarm?
Hi Greg, The FF345 is going to be the best solution, the installation of that is fairly simple as well.
Thanks @Sterling. I actually do use Alarm Grid for monitoring and I am very pleased with your service. I am less concerned with hard wiring it to the lyric (I used the only two hard wired zones and used the wired > wireless zone converter for the remaining hardwired zones). My question was more around having the power source be 110V with battery backup and being able to use the existing Red wire communicator wire throughout the house, while still having a smoke / CO detector that could be added (wirelessly ) to the lyric . If the FF345 will satisfy the fire safety monitoring requirement though I will simply add that. Thank you again.
There is no way to wire in any type of wired smoke/CO sensor to the Lyric. However, the <a href="https://www.alarmgrid.com/products/encore-ff345">FF345</a> is a wireless sensor designed to allow you to add monitored protection of your existing interconnected smoke/CO devices. It mounts near any of the interconnected devices and listens for the industry standard noise made by the 110V smoke and/or CO detector and when it hears that, it sends a fire and/or CO alarm signal to the Lyric (assuming it's been properly programmed). I hope this helps and if you're interested in us monitoring your Lyric, please check out our low-cost, no-contract alarm monitoring services online at https://www.alarmgrid.com/monitoring. We're experts on the Lyric system and I think you'd be very pleased working with us.
Is there a hard-wired smoke / CO option for Lyric? I would love to get this to replace my three Kidde Smoke / CO Detectors, but both my 3 (now end of life) Kidde Smoke/CO Detectors and the other Kidde smoke detectors in every room are wired with 110v with communicator wire between them. I would hate to lose the “one go, all go” for the whole house. In other words, if I purchased 3 SixCombos I don’t believe (and please correct me if I’m wrong), that I would only have one go all go functionality between those 3 and separately between all of the other detectors.
