Can I Use a Honeywell 5828 With a 2GIG GC2e?

This is what allows for bi-directional (two-way) connectivity. The panel and the keypad will have a matching House ID, which tells the two devices to communicate with each other.

But the 2GIG GC2e does not have this House ID setting. As a result, it is unable to interface with a Honeywell 5828 Keypad. In fact, you will only find this House ID setting on Honeywell LYNX Touch Systems and Honeywell VISTA Systems that have an added wireless transceiver. This makes these systems the only ones that will work with the Honeywell 5828 Keypad.

This keypad requires that a 2GIG XCVR2-345 Transceiver Module be installed inside the 2GIG GC2e System. It is important to note that adding this module will make the 2GIG GC2e incompatible with 2GIG eSeries Encrypted Sensors. 2GIG has promised to release a patch update to make the GC2e remain compatible with these sensors when the 2GIG XCVR2-345 is added.
