Does the IQ5 NS Have Disarm Photos Like Other IQ Panels?

The IQ5 NS does not support disarm photos because it does not offer a built-in camera. Disarm photo capture is available only on the IQ Panel 5. It include a built-in 13 MP PortraitView camera that captures a photo each time the panel is manually disarmed using the IQ Panel 5's touchscreen.

Before You Begin

The IQ5 NS (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE versions) does not have a touchscreen or a built-in camera. All local panel programming is performed through the IQ Installer app on your mobile device. If you have not yet connected the IQ Installer app to your panel, see our guide on setting up the IQ5 NS with the IQ Installer app before proceeding.

The default Master Code is 1234 and the default Installer Code is 1111, but both should be changed during initial setup. The IQ5 NS works with PowerG sensors, Z-Wave devices, and Bluetooth accessories as part of a complete security system platform.

Why Disarm Photos Are Not Available on the IQ5 NS

Disarm photo capture requires a built-in panel camera, not to mention a touchscreen interface for disarming. The IQ5 NS lacks a touchscreen interface and a camera. It is designed for cost-effective installations where a built-in camera is not needed. Because there is no camera, the IQ5 NS cannot capture or store any panel photos. This includes disarm photos, and alarm photos. None of these camera-based features are available on this panel.

Panels That Support Disarm Photos

The IQ Panel 5 includes a built-in 13 MP PortraitView camera that automatically captures a disarm photo each time a user disarms the panel using the panel's touchscreen. These photos are saved to the Camera page under the ARM/DISARM section, along with the username of the code used to disarm, date, and time. Alarm photos and settings photos are also captured automatically. Disarm photos can be forwarded to a smartphone through Alarm.com when the panel is used with an active monitoring plan. If disarm photo capture is a requirement for your installation, the IQ Panel 5 is the appropriate choice.

Monitoring Disarms on the IQ5 NS

While the IQ5 NS cannot capture disarm photos, you can still monitor arming and disarming activity through the Alarm.com app with an active monitoring plan. Alarm.com logs every arm and disarm event with a timestamp and the username of the code used. You can also configure Alarm.com notifications to receive an alert on your phone each time the system is disarmed. These alerts will include the same information logged by Alarm.com. The IQ5 NS offers full security system functionality including dual-path LTE and WIFI communication, Z-Wave smart home integration, and support for up to 242 user codes.

Disarm photo capture is not available on the IQ5 NS because the panel does not include a built-in camera. For help with your IQ5 NS or other configurations, contact the Alarm Grid support team. We're here Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM Eastern Time. Email us at support@alarmgrid.com.
