How Do I Check How Many Zones Are Used on the IQ5 NS System?
To check how many zones are used on the IQ5 NS, open the IQ Installer app and navigate to Security Sensors, where every programmed sensor is listed with its Zone number. Count the entries to see how many of the 128 zones are used. Because the panel has no screen, this is done in the app.
About Zones and the Sensor List
Every sensor you add to the IQ5 NS (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) takes up one zone, and the panel supports up to 128 security RF and life-safety devices. The Security Sensors list in the IQ Installer app shows every programmed sensor in zone order, so it is the easiest way to see what is in use. Counting the entries, or noting the highest Zone number, tells you how many zones are filled and how many remain on your security system.
This is handy before adding new equipment, so you can confirm you have not reached the 128-device limit, or when you are simply taking inventory of what is enrolled. Each sensor appears with its zone position and name, and viewing the list changes nothing on the panel.
Before You Begin
Because the IQ5 NS has no screen, its Security Sensors list is reached through the IQ Installer app. If you have not yet connected the IQ Installer app to your panel, see our guide on setting up the IQ5 NS with the IQ Installer app before proceeding. Viewing the list is read-only, so you can check it any time.

Tips
Zone numbers are assigned in the order sensors are added, so a gap can appear if you have deleted a sensor along the way; counting the actual entries gives you the true used total rather than relying on the highest number alone. The 128-zone limit covers all your security RF and life-safety sensors together, including PowerG and other supported frequencies. Once you have found a zone in the list, you can also edit that zone on the IQ5 NS to change its name, group, or other settings. Selecting a sensor in the list opens its details, where those edits are made.
Checking how many zones are used on the IQ5 NS lets you track your sensor count and know how much room is left before the 128-device limit.
