How Do I Delete All of the Sensors on the IQ5 NS System?

To delete all sensors on the IQ5 NS, open the IQ Installer app and then navigate to the Security Sensors, then use the trash can icon at the top of the page to erase every programmed sensor all at once. Because the panel has no screen of its own, this bulk delete is all done within the app.

About Deleting All Sensors

Deleting all sensors on the IQ5 NS (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) wipes every security sensor programmed into the panel in one step. It is a bulk action meant for a fresh start, such as decommissioning a system, clearing out an old sensor list before a full reconfiguration, or preparing the panel for a new owner. This is far faster than deleting zones one at a time, but it is also permanent, so it is a tool to use deliberately on your security system.

This action cannot be undone. Once you confirm, all security sensors are gone from the panel, and you would have to enroll each one again from scratch to get them back. Deleting all sensors does not touch your Z-Wave devices, which have their own separate removal, and it is not the same as a full Master Reset, which erases everything on the panel.

Before You Begin

Because the IQ5 NS has no screen, the Security Sensors page is reached through the IQ Installer app. If you have not yet connected the IQ Installer app to your panel, see our guide on setting up the IQ5 NS with the IQ Installer app before proceeding. Because this erases every sensor and cannot be reversed, only do it if you truly want to clear the whole sensor list. If you just need to remove one device, see our guide on how to delete a single sensor on the IQ5 NS instead.

Delete All Sensors

  1. Open the IQ Installer app. Open the IQ Installer app on your mobile device and make sure it is connected to your IQ5 NS.

Open the IQ Installer app connected to your IQ5 NS.
  2. Navigate to Security Sensors. In the app, go to the Security Sensors page, which lists every sensor programmed to the panel.

Navigate to the Security Sensors page.
  3. Use the trash can icon to delete all. Touch the trash can icon at the top of the Security Sensors page to delete all programmed sensors at once, then confirm when the app asks. Every sensor is removed, leaving the list empty.

Touch the trash can icon and confirm.

Tips

Before running this, it is smart to note down your current sensors and their zone names, since you will be rebuilding the list from nothing afterward. The trash can icon at the top of the Security Sensors page is the fast path to clear everything, while deleting a single sensor is the better choice when you only need to remove one. If your goal is a complete clean slate for a new owner, a full Master Reset clears everything rather than just the sensors.

Deleting all sensors on the IQ5 NS clears the entire sensor list in a single step. For help deleting all sensors or reconfiguring your system on your IQ5 NS, contact the Alarm Grid support team.
