What Is The Best Pet Immune Motion Sensor?
There are two different types of pet immune motion sensors; hardwired and wireless.
The best hardwired pet immune motion detector is the Honeywell IS335. The Honeywell IS335 is a passive infrared motion detector which means the motion will produce a fault or alarm when it sees a change in infrared energy passing within the zone.
The IS335 has a coverage area of 40' x 56' and 0 or 80 lbs. selectable pet immunity. Selectable meaning, the pet immunity can be disabled.
The Honeywell IS335 hardwired motion detector is universal and is compatible with any hardwired alarm panel not just the Honeywell Vista series.
The best wireless pet immune motion detector is the Honeywell 5800PIR-RES. The 5800PIR-RES is also a passive infrared motion detector and detects motion by a change in infrared energy sensing hot to cold or cold to hot and will send a fault or alarm to the alarm panel.
The 5800PIR-RES has an RF transmitting range of 200 feet and uses one 3V lithium battery: Ademco No. 466, Duracell DL123/DL123A, Panasonic CR123A. Only these approved batteries should be used.
The 5800PIR-RES has a coverage area of 35ft. x 40ft at 90° and is pet immune up to 80 lbs.
The Honeywell 5800PIR-RES is compatible with any 5800 series wireless receiver, Honeywell wireless Lynx Touch and Lynx Plus panels, the Lyric Controller and a 2GIG panel like the Go Control! or the GC3.
