Honeywell ZWSTAT - Z-Wave Thermostat

Love the savings!!
Submitted on 04/15/2013 Jill C.

I recently bought a Honeywell ZWSTAT and thanks to the techs at Alarm Grid I finally have it properly configured. Now my electrical bill has been cut in HALF because my a/c no longer runs when my husband and I are at work.

This thing will have paid for my entire alarm system by the end of summer. Then it's like my alarm system is paying me!! Who else can claim that??

I needed to upgrade my panel, but I didn't want to buy the tc2 kits because I am monitored over IP. This saved me a$100.

Honeywell L5000DM - LYNX Touch Desk Mount

Perfect for Night Stands Too!

This desk mount was perfect for our small apartment. We're renting and did not want to lose our security deposit over an alarm system! Now I'm able to arm our system right from my bed where I have our L5100 mounted on our night stand. Thanks Honeywell for this great product!

Purchased this switch to add sensing for my integrated whole house security system. This switch works perfectly. Easy to mount, magnet on flange is adjustable as well. Armored cable is a plus. Overall I would highly recommend this high quality switch assembly to any residential/commercial installation. In addition, the price is very reasonable.

I worked with Sterling and found him to be very knowledgeable on the Lynx 5100 system and made the whole setup process very easy. Between the Honeywell system and the Total Connect system via Alarm Grid, I find the this to be a very amazing system and monitoring company. I would recommend Alarm Grid to anyone I know.

Honeywell LT-CABLE - Universal Security System Power Supply Cable

Easy

I'm not an electrician, I don't know anything about stripping wires. I wanted to install my own security system because I didn't feel like paying an installer big money just to come in and do something I could do easily on my own. This made the entire process super super easy.

Honeywell 958 - Overhead Door Magnetic Contact

Works great for monitoring garage doors
Submitted on 01/06/2013 Kevin

I bought a couple of these as a method for monitoring whether my garage doors were up or down. I needed something that had a little more distance between the magnet and sensor than just a standard door/window sensor and these can have up to a 2.5 inch gap.

While they are suppose to be drilled into the concrete and then mounted to the door, I didn't want to do this. I actually mounted the sensor to a couple of brackets that are similar to the infrared garage door "eyes" that prevent a door from coming down if something is blocking the beam. The brackets are mounted about 7 feet high, just before the curve in the garage door track so that none of our vehicle would hit them. I then mounted the magnet directly to the door in front of the sensor. Once I connected them into loop 1 of a couple of 5816 wireless sensors and configured them into my Lynx 5100 as monitor only zones everything worked great. Now I don't have to think about whether I closed the garage door or not any more, just go to my phone and look if the zones are showing as sensor trouble or not....

Honeywell 5808W3 - Wireless Smoke & Heat Detector

Feel better with this connected via Total Connect
Submitted on 01/06/2013 Kevin

While I haven't and hope to never actually have this go off, just the fact that this smoke/heat detector integrates into the alarm system and can generate an alarm and alerts via Total Connect in the event it did happen brings me a little peace of mind.

In addition to the smoke/heat detector this sensor also has a freeze detector as well that could alert us if the temperature gets too cold, and help prevent freezing pipes or anything else that goes along with extreme cold here in the Midwest during the winter months. Setup is quick and easy and you just need to program each of these features (fire/smoke, maintenance (batteries), and freeze warning)in as separate zones.

Honeywell 5811 - Wireless Thin Door Sensor and Window Sensor

Awesome sensors with great range
Submitted on 01/06/2013 Kevin

Bought enough of these to cover every window and door in my house that is easily accessible because they are thin, wireless, and was told by AlarmGrid they have great range. They were not kidding and these things work great.

I have had no problems with any of the sensors connecting to my Lynx 5100 system, which is centrally located, in my house. They are very thin and do not create eye sores to look at and I also found they work great on double-hung windows. I simply put the receiver on the lower pane and the magnet on the upper pane and now if either of the windows is opened the alarm will trigger.

Honeywell 5828V - Wireless Talking Fixed English Alarm Keypad

Perfect add on for Lynx 5100
Submitted on 01/06/2013 Kevin

I purchased this as an add on from my Lynx 5100 wireless system to place close to my entry door so that we didn't have to run up/down the stairs when coming into or going out of the house. It works perfectly. All you need to do it setup your house code on by the Lynx 5100 and set the same house code on the 5828v and you are up an running. One thing that I would recommend to anyone that is looking to purchase this is to also purchase the additional AC Power cord to go with it as the chime and voice functions will work all of the time if it is powered in to AC power.

It can be run off of battery power only and the installation is much easier (if you want to make sure and hide cables and cords) however you will lose the voice features after the system goes into standby mode and will always have to push the * button to wake the unit up. With the help and recommendations from the people at AlarmGrid, I purchased the optional power cord up from and it works like a champ.
