How Do I Check the Firmware Version for My Honeywell Tuxedo Touch Keypad?
You can check the firmware version for your Honeywell Tuxedo Touch Keypad by accessing the device information menu. The current installed firmware version along with other useful information will be displayed. You can return to the main screen after noting the keypad firmware version.
Honeywell periodically releases firmware updates for the Tuxedo Touch Keypad. It is important that your Tuxedo Touch device is on the latest firmware so that you can take advantage of all of the features and functions for the device. Please note that the original non-WIFI version of the Tuxedo Touch cannot receive firmware updates. Only the newer Tuxedo Touch WIFI can receive these updates. If you currently have a non-WIFI Tuxedo Touch Keypad, you might consider upgrading to a different hardwired touchscreen keypad. Resideo (formerly Honeywell) is expected to release a "third generation" Tuxedo Touch with a sleeker, more tablet-like design at some point in the near future. It will likely look very similar to the Honeywell Home 6290W Touchscreen Keypad. But as of March 2020, a "third gen" Tuxedo Touch is not available. For this FAQ, we are strictly discussing the firmware for a "second generation" Tuxedo Touch WIFI that can receive firmware updates via an SD card.
As of March 2020, the latest firmware version for a Tuxedo Touch Keypad is Software Version V 188.8.131.52_VA. But before you go and update the firmware for your Tuxedo Touch Keypad, you might want to check its current firmware to see if an update is even needed. Complete the following steps to check the firmware for a Tuxedo Touch Keypad:
1. Access keypad information menu. The firmware version is displayed in the keypad information menu. Start from the main screen of the Tuxedo Touch. Click on the settings icon. This is the picture of the wrench and screwdriver in the bottom-left corner. Then click on the system information button. This is the button at the bottom of the screen with the lower-case letter i and three (3) monitors. This will allow you to access the keypad information menu.
2. Note the firmware version. You can note the Software Version on the left side of the screen. We have an example of our Tuxedo Touch in the picture below. Note the Software Version on the left side of the screen in the picture. Please note that we censored the sensitive information in the center of the screen. Your menu will display additional system information beyond what is shown in our example picture.
3. Return to home screen. Click the picture of the house in the upper-left corner to return to the home screen. You can return to the System Information Menu if you ever need to check the firmware version again in the future. This can be useful for confirming that a firmware update was successful.
