How Do I Delete a Key Fob from My 2GIG Edge?

You can delete a key fob from your 2GIG Edge by clicking the gear in the bottom-right of the main screen, entering the Installer Code (default 1561), choosing Installer Toolbox, then Panel Programming, then Key Fobs, then finding the device on the left, and clicking the "Reset Fob" button.

There are 32 key fob slots on the 2GIG Edge. After you delete a key fob, its slot will be made available for a new key fob to enroll. A key fob slot holds an entire key fob device, and not just a single button input. Compatible key fob devices for the 2GIG Edge include the 2GIG KEY2e-345 Encrypted Key Fob, the 2GIG KEY2-345 Key Fob, and the Honeywell 5834-4 Key Fob. Note that for the Honeywell 5834-4, the key fob must be used in its low-security mode. You can verify it is in its low-security mode because it will signify it is transmitting with a green LED. It cannot be used with the 2GIG Edge in its high-security mode, where it signifies it is transmitting with a red LED. You can find more information on low-security and high-security modes for the 5834-4 Key Fob in this helpful FAQ.

To delete a key fob from a 2GIG Edge, complete the following steps:

1. Access Key Fobs Menu. Begin from the home screen of your 2GIG Edge. Click the gear icon in the bottom-right corner. Enter the system's Installer Code. This code is 1561 by default, but it's possible that it may have been changed. From there, choose Installer Toolbox, followed by Panel Programming, and then Key Fobs. You will enter into the Key Fobs Menu for the 2GIG Edge System.

2. Delete the Key Fob. Find the key fob that you want to delete on the left-hand side. It will be assigned to one of the 32 key fob zone slots. Click on the key fob you want to delete to highlight it. With that key fob highlighted, press the red "Reset Fob" button in the bottom-left corner. The system will ask you for confirmation. Choose the red "Reset" button on the right-hand side in the window that appears to confirm that you want to delete the key fob. The key fob will be deleted from the system.

3. Return to Home screen. You can then return to the home screen by repeatedly pressing the return arrow in the upper-right corner. Any changes you made will be automatically applied.
