How do I clear a "00 Low Bat RF Bat" message on a Lynx?
The message "00 Low Bat RF Bat" is caused by a low battery in a nearby wireless keypad, such as a 5828. If you have a 5828 that you're using with the system, replace the batteries in the device then use it to arm/disarm the system. This should clear the low battery message.
If you do NOT have a 5828 or any other wireless keypad in use with your system, or if the above procedure does not clear the message, it is possible that you're picking up the low battery signal from a neighbor's wireless keypad. Wireless keypads, such as the 5828 use a House ID protocol to communicate with the alarm control panel. If your system and your neighbor's system both happen to be Honeywell systems with wireless enabled, and if your House ID's are programmed to the same setting, this can happen. It doesn't help that many Installers use the default House ID of 10 in all their installs, which makes this more likely to occur.
If you find yourself in this situation, and you are not using any wireless keypads or other bi-directional wireless devices (meaning any type of wireless device that retrieves status from the alarm panel) the fix is easy. Simply change the House ID in your panel to something else, or disable it completely and this will resolve the issue. In the L3000 panel, you do this by entering Installer Code + 8 + 00, *24 enter new 2 digit House ID code, or 00 to disable, then *99 to exit programming. If you are using any type of bi-directional wireless device, such as the 5827, 5828, 5804BD, 5804BDV, etc. then you will need to set this entry to a new valid House ID other than 00, then you will need to match this House ID in each of your bi-directional wireless devices.
In the LynxTouch series panels, you can change the House ID by entering Security -> More -> Tools -> Installer Code -> Program -> System Type -> RF House Code -> New Entry -> Done -> Save then back out of programming, making sure to say Yes when prompted to "Allow Installer to Re-Enter Programming?"
