Will DSC Wireless Sensors Work w/ a Lyric Panel?
No, DSC Wireless Sensors will not work with a Lyric Panel. The Lyric System supports 345 MHz sensors and the 2.4 GHz sensors from the Honeywell SiX Series. The panel will not support any DSC Wireless Sensors. This includes the 433 MHz "legacy DSC" sensors and the 915 MHz PowerG Sensors.
The Resideo Lyric Security System is a wireless alarm control panel that supports two (2) different wireless frequencies for wireless alarm sensors. There are three (3) main lineups of wireless sensors that the Lyric System can support. These are the Honeywell 5800 Sensors, the 345 MHz 2GIG Wireless Sensors, and the encrypted Honeywell SiX Series Sensors. There are some other 345 MHz wireless sensors that will also work with the system, but these are the main ones.
The Honeywell 5800 Sensors operate at 345 MHz. They were originally designed for use with older Honeywell Systems like the Honeywell LYNX Touch Panels and ADEMCO VISTA Series Panels with added 345 MHz wireless receiver. But the Lyric System is actually backwards compatible with these sensors as well. As a result, you can Honeywell 5800 Sensors with the Lyric just fine.
Other 345 MHz sensors will also work with the system. This mainly includes the 2GIG 345 MHz Sensors. In order to support the 2GIG Sensors, the system will need to be running Firmware Update MR3 or higher. Most other 345 MHz sensors will work with the system as well, but these are less common. Some of the other 345 MHz sensors that work with the Lyric Panel include the VERSA-2GIG Contact Sensor and certain Optex Motion Sensors.
The Lyric will also support the Honeywell SiX Series Sensors. The SiX Sensors were designed specifically with the Lyric System in mind. These sensors operate at 2.4 GHz, and they utilize 128-bit AES encryption. This makes them nearly impossible for intruders to hack or takeover wirelessly. They are great for users who want the added security of wireless encryption.
None of the DSC Wireless Sensors will work with the Lyric System. They don't operate at a wireless frequency that is compatible with the system. The "legacy" DSC Sensors operate at 433 MHz. The encrypted PowerG Sensors operate at 915 MHz. Neither wireless frequency will work with the Lyric System. If you need to obtain new wireless sensors for your Lyric System, make sure you get 345 MHz sensors or Honeywell SiX Series Sensors.
