How Do I Change the Volume on a Honeywell Alarm System?

You can change the volume on a Honeywell alarm system by following the specific instructions for the type of Honeywell panel that is being used. A Honeywell touchscreen panel can have its volume adjusted through its settings menu. A Honeywell Vista cannot have its volume adjusted.

Below is the process for changing the volume on various Honeywell security panels:

Lyric Controller & Lynx Touch: Adjusting the volume on a Honeywell touchscreen system is very easy. The volume for one of these panels can be adjusted from the panel's settings menu. The process for accessing this menu differs between a Lynx Touch panel and a Lyric Controller. However, the process is very similar.

If you are using a Lyric Controller, choose the "Settings" option from the home screen. You will now be at the settings menu.

If you are using a Lynx Touch panel, from the home screen, choose Security > More > Settings. You will now be at the settings menu.

From there, you can then raise or lower the volume for the panel. You can also choose whether you want Voice and/or Chime to be active. Click "Save" in the bottom-right corner of the screen when you have finished.

Honeywell Vista: Unfortunately, there is no true way to adjust the volume on a Honeywell Vista panel. However, if you have a Tuxedo Touch, then you can adjust the volume for the keypad. This will only affect the volume of the Tuxedo Touch, not the volume of the entire Vista system.

To adjust the volume on a Tuxedo Touch, click on the settings icon in the lower-left corner of the screen. The settings icon can be identified by a picture of a screwdriver and a wrench. From there, the volume can be adjusted on the right side of the screen. Once you have finished, click the return arrow in the upper right corner of the screen. Select "Yes" when asked if you would like to save your changes.

Additionally, if you have a voice keypad, you can adjust the volume of the voice output for the keypad. Please note, this is only possible for a voice keypad, such as the 6160V or a 6150V. This will not work on a non-voice keypad, such as the 6160RF or the 6160. Again, this will only affect the volume of the keypad, not the volume of the entire Vista system.

To adjust the volume on a voice keypad, press [#] + [02]. This will put the panel into volume adjustment mode. Press the [3] key to increase the volume, or press [6] to decrease the volume. Doing this will increase or decrease the volume by one level. To further increase or decrease the volume, you must enter the [#] + [02] command again before pressing [3] or [6]. Continue this process until the volume is set to your liking.
