Honeywell Lyric WIFI 10-1 5800MINI Kit

Users looking to get started with home or small business security can get great use out of our Lyric 10-1 WIFI Kit. The kit comes with a new Honeywell Lyric System, ten (10) Honeywell 5800MINI Contacts, one (1) Honeywell SiXPIR Motion Sensor, and a Honeywell LT-Cable for providing power.

The Lyric has been one of the top alarm systems since its release in 2016. It is a wireless all-in-one panel that can support up to 128 zones, which is more than enough for nearly any home or business. The system is operated using its 7-inch full-color touchscreen, which offers intuitive and responsive controls. You can program the entire system yourself without needing to hire an installer! You will be up and running in no time once you know the basic programming steps!

For wireless sensor support, the Lyric works with its own exclusive lineup of Honeywell SiX Series Sensors. It is also backward compatible with older 345 MHz Honeywell 5800 Sensors (uni-directional sensors only) as well as 2GIG 345 MHz sensors. The SiX Sensor support is particularly important, as these sensors utilize military-grade 128-bit AES encryption. This makes them virtually impossible for others to hack or takeover wirelessly. This kit is bundled with ten (10) Honeywell 5800MINI Contacts and one (1) Honeywell SiXPIR Motion Sensor. More sensors can also be added as needed, thanks to the system's (128) wireless zones.

Honeywell made it very easy to provide power to the Lyric System. A plug-in transformer comes included, and our bundled kit features a Honeywell LT-Cable for easy connecting. By using this 8-foot wire, you will not need to strip or prepare any wires, thereby making your installation as easy as possible. And if you add a Honeywell LCP500-DK Desk Mount (sold separately), you can complete the entire installation with just a screwdriver! All of the wireless sensors can be secured using the included double-sided foam tape.

Another important aspect of the Lyric is its ability to connect with the AlarmNet Servers for monitoring service. The Lyric has a built-in WIFI card for IP monitoring. But you may want to add a cellular communicator for ultimate reliability. Cellular communication is much more reliable, and it is not prone to sudden outages like internet service. Both the Honeywell LYRICLTE-A (AT&T LTE) and the Honeywell LYRICLTE-V (Verizon LTE) are great options. As for choosing between AT&T and Verizon, just go with whichever service works best in your area. With the right monitoring plan, you can control your Lyric system remotely through Total Connect 2.0. By accessing Total Connect 2.0 through a web browser or a mobile app on your phone, you can control your system in a number of different ways. You can arm and disarm your system, check its current status, and even control Z-Wave devices. And with the Total Connect 2.0 Mobile App, you can do all of this from pretty much anywhere in the world using your smartphone!

But one unfortunate side effect of Total Connect 2.0 is that it takes away the ability to program smart scenes locally on the Lyric. The issue can be somewhat worked around by setting up the local smart scenes before creating the system's TC2 account. You must program all the necessary Z-Wave automation devices with the Lyrid and then create the smart scenes locally at the panel prior to activating the TC2 account. But don't forget that even though you will still lose the ability to create smart scenes locally, you can instead create smart scenes remotely through Total Connect 2.0 if your monitoring plan includes automation.

As for its actual home automation features, the Lyric is sure to impress. The system includes a built-in Z-Wave controller for supporting up to (72) Z-Wave devices. There are all sorts of smart home automation devices you can add, including smart lights, door locks, thermostats, and more. And with the creation of scenes, you can even set up smart scenes to have one or more of your Z-Wave devices activate automatically based on a set schedule or with certain system events. Keep in mind though that local smart scene programming becomes lost once the Lyric is set up with TC2. At that point, only remote scene programming is possible, and that's assuming that the user's Total Connect 2.0 plan includes automation services.

If you are an iOS user, then you will certainly want to take advantage of the system's compatibility with Apple HomeKit. You can integrate your Lyric System with your HomeKit network and have your HomeKit devices respond automatically based on predetermined system events. It is also possible to operate your Lyric System remotely using Siri voice commands sent from your iPhone.
